Auction listing support — Bring a Trailer & Cars & Bids

Don’t leave money on the table.

At auction, bidders pay for proof — records, photographs and straight answers — not promises. Most private sellers learn that the expensive way, once. We build the complete listing for you: the records dossier, a reserve set from real sold prices, the full submission package, and answers drafted for you right through auction week. Professional presentation for Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids, done from our desk — and your vehicle never leaves your driveway. All vehicles welcome.

Key takeaways

01

Proof before payment

Before you pay anything, judge a complete example listing — wording, photos and video — built on our own car, to the exact standard yours will meet.

02

$495 flat. No commission.

One fee covers the records dossier, reserve guidance, the complete submission package and seven days of auction comment support. Nothing is taken from your sale price.

03

Your vehicle never leaves you

It stays with you until it’s sold, and your auction account stays yours — we never ask for your login, and we never take possession of your vehicle, your title, or the sale funds.

We know what you’re facing

Selling a vehicle you care about shouldn’t feel like a second job

Maybe it’s the car you’ve owned and looked after for years. Maybe it’s a truck, a three-wheeler, something with a story. Either way, the big auction sites are where the serious buyers are — but they ask a lot of a seller. Most people sell this way once, learn as they go, and leave money on the table. We prepare listings every day, from our desk, so you don’t have to. Here’s what catches sellers out:

  1. Bidders pay for proof, not promises. Scattered receipts, gaps in the history and unanswered questions all come straight off the bidding. A clean, complete dossier is what turns watchers into bidders.
  2. Asking prices are not evidence. A reserve set on hope either strands the vehicle or leaves money behind. A defensible reserve is built from actual sold prices for matching year, mileage and specification — that’s the work we put in front of you before you decide.
  3. Auction week moves fast. Questions land while the bidding is live, and every one of them needs a prompt, accurate, dossier-backed answer. With us, you’re never fielding them alone.

The service

Everything handled, from our desk

One engagement, start to finish — this is what your $495 covers:

Records dossier

Your service history, receipts, build and option details and history reports, assembled into one clean, buyer-ready file. Before anything is shared with a platform or a bidder, we redact personal details such as home addresses from receipts and documents — your privacy is protected as a matter of routine.

Reserve guidance

A defensible reserve price based on actual sold prices for matching year, mileage and specification — never asking prices. We send you the comparable sales and a recommended reserve, and you approve the reserve before anything is listed. The final call is always yours.

The listing package

Your complete submission, built for Bring a Trailer or Cars & Bids. The platform’s own specialists write the published listing from our package; we check their draft line by line before it goes live and correct anything that is wrong.

Photo handling

Upload up to 15 key photos using the Dropbox link we send you, straight from your phone — no Dropbox account needed. We crop and correct the lighting (never altering the vehicle), sequence them, and return a ready-to-upload set. Our photo guide shows you exactly what to shoot.

Video

You film a walk-around video and upload it to your own YouTube channel (we can provide assistance — our tutorial page walks you through it, step by step); we include the link in your submission package. On Cars & Bids a cold-start and walk-around video is required by the platform. We review your video once, with one round of feedback, before your listing is built.

Seven days of comment support

While the auction runs, you forward bidder questions from your own auction account, we draft the answers from your dossier, and you post them. Anything we can’t answer from the dossier comes to you first — nothing is ever guessed.

Post-sale pack

After the auction: the listing record, the final questions and answers, and handoff notes, so you and the buyer can complete the paperwork directly.

“Your vehicle never leaves you until it’s sold.”

The DC Auto Services promise

Don’t take our word for any of this. Look at the complete example listing — the wording, the photographs and the video, all built on our own car — and judge the quality for yourself before you spend a dollar.

Step by step

How it works

Simple from your side — the work sits with us:

  1. Enquiry — email deancrookstudios@gmail.com with the subject line “Car for sale”. Tell us what you’re selling; we confirm the vehicle is a fit for auction and say so honestly if it isn’t.
  2. See the standard first — before you pay anything, look at the complete example listing so you can judge the quality. Your listing is built once you proceed.
  3. Intake — you complete the seller intake form, upload your photos using the Dropbox link we send you, and send photos of the documents you have. No perfect history needed — we present what’s verifiable, clearly. The form asks who holds the title and whether there is a lien, because bidders and platforms ask both.
  4. Payment — the $495 fee is paid via our secure payment link, before work begins. Auction platform listing fees are separate and paid by you directly to the platform.
  5. Dossier & reserve — once paid, we assemble the dossier, redact personal details from the documents, and send you the comparable sales and a recommended reserve price for your approval. We then build your submission package ready to go, and you submit it through your own auction account.
  6. Auction week — when your listing goes live, send us the link to your auction post. For the 7-day run we handle bidder questions and comments with you: you forward the questions from your auction account, we draft the answers from your dossier, and you post them. We never ask for your auction-site login — the platforms prohibit sharing it.
  7. If the reserve isn’t met — the vehicle is yours and nothing further is owed. We’ll send you a short read of the result — where bidding stopped against the comparable sales — and your options, which typically include relisting under the platform’s own relist terms or selling another way.
  8. Post-sale — we prepare your post-sale pack: the listing record, the final questions and answers, and handoff notes. Title transfer and the sale paperwork are completed directly between you and the buyer — we have no part in them.

Clear boundaries

A professional service says plainly what it doesn’t do, as well as what it does. These boundaries protect you — and they’re part of why sellers trust us with vehicles they care about:

The fee, in short

Ready when you are

One email starts it

Tell us what you’re selling — the vehicle, where it is, and anything you’d like us to know — and we’ll come back to you. There’s no obligation, and if your vehicle isn’t a fit for auction we’ll tell you straight. When you’re ready, we’ll do the rest.
