Example listing — built on our own car

2021 BMW M2 Competition — 6-Speed Manual

This is what a DC Auto Services listing looks like: the full specification, the history told straight, the photographs in order, and the disclosures in the open — built on our own car, so you can judge the standard before you pay anything. Read it the way a bidder would. It is an example, not a live listing; the car is not offered for sale.

Why this page exists

Judge us before you hire us

01

The complete package

Specification, history, condition, records, photographs and video — the whole submission, exactly as a platform receives it. Not a sample paragraph.

02

Every claim is checkable

Each statement traces to a photograph in the set or a document in the dossier — including this car’s prior public auction, stated up front where a bidder would find it anyway.

03

Disclosed, not hidden

Known items appear in the open, and anything a seller still has to supply is flagged as exactly that — never filled in, never guessed. That restraint is the product.

The car

A Florida car from new, with the specification bidders look for

This 2021 BMW M2 Competition (F87) is finished in Black Sapphire Metallic over Black Dakota leather with blue contrast stitching. It was built in Leipzig, Germany, and sold new by Fields BMW in Winter Park, Florida — a Florida car from new, now based in Jacksonville. Its original MSRP was $63,890, from the build data held in the dossier.

Power comes from a twin-turbocharged inline-six — the “M Power” engine cover and carbon-fibre strut brace are both visible in the engine-bay photograph — driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. The gear lever, the manual shift pattern and the M1/M2 preset buttons on the M Performance steering wheel are all shown in the interior set, because on a car like this, those are the photographs bidders zoom in on.

Highlights

History & ownership

The history, told the way we’d tell yours

A Florida car from new: built in Leipzig, sold new by Fields BMW in Winter Park, and in Florida ever since. Bidders reward a story that adds up — and they check. So the record is stated here in full, including the part a less careful listing might hope nobody notices:

This car was previously listed on Bring a Trailer (Lot #263,758), where the auction ended on September 18, 2026 with the reserve not met at $48,500. It then sold via offer for $51,500 on September 20, 2026. The current owner acquired it on October 13, 2026 through a part-exchange arranged by Rigo Vega of Port Orange, Florida, paying $53,000 at 27,415 miles. That prior listing is public record — on a live engagement, the dossier front-foots exactly this kind of history, because a bidder who finds it on their own stops trusting everything else.

Ownership since October 2026 has been short — that, too, is stated rather than left to questions: the car serves as the DC Auto Services example vehicle, which is why it is documented here in this depth.

Records & service

On a live listing, this section carries the service history assembled in the dossier — invoices and receipts with personal details redacted, history reports, and the build data. For this example, the build data is on file; that is where the specification above comes from. The remaining items are the ones we ask every seller to supply — and on this example they are shown exactly as they would appear if a seller hadn’t provided them yet:

Seller-supplied fields — shown as we show them

Every DC Auto intake asks for the items below. Until a seller provides them, the listing says so — it never fills the gap:

  • Current mileage, evidenced by a dedicated odometer photograph
  • Service history documents, and the date and mileage of the last service
  • Tyres — brand, sizes, date codes and tread
  • Battery — brand and date fitted
  • Keys, manuals and tools included
  • Title status, title holder and any lien — the wording bidders and platforms ask for
  • The seller’s signed statement on accident and paint history

That is the standard we’ll hold your listing to as well — and it starts with what we ask you for. See the full list in our seller guides.

Condition & disclosures

Disclosed, not hidden

Work through the photographs and the presentation is the story: the paint and panels as photographed, the cabin, the seats, the clean engine bay. Nothing in the set is cropped or lit to hide condition — edits are crop and lighting only, the same rule that will apply to your photographs. And what a camera can’t show is stated here instead:

Known item, in the open: the charge pipe is a recognised weak point on this model, and when this example was built a replacement was on order for the car — its fitted status would be confirmed and stated before any live listing. On your listing, an item like this appears here, in the open, because bidders ask, and the dossier answers first.

“Where a fact is not yet proven, the package says so instead of filling the gap. That restraint is the product.”

How every DC Auto package is built

Photographs

The photo sequence

The set runs the way a buyer thinks: what the vehicle looks like from the kerb, what it is like to sit in, and whether the mechanical presentation matches the story. This is the opening set we ask every seller to shoot — up to 15 key photographs, straight from their phone, sequenced by us. Our photo guide walks you through every one of them.

On a live listing the full platform gallery runs much larger — each wheel and tyre individually with date codes, underbody, paint-flaw close-ups, boot, rear seats, documents — and we send you a short shot list for it. The 13 above are the foundation set every listing starts from.

Video

Watch it walk around

This walk-around was filmed by the seller and is hosted on the seller’s own YouTube channel — exactly how yours will work. DC Auto Services does not film, edit or host video: you film and upload to your own channel and send us the link, and we include it in your submission package. Keeping the video live and accurate through the auction is the seller’s responsibility.

Treat this video as the minimum example: a clean, steady walk-around with the interior covered. What you film beyond that is your choice. Offered as beneficial additions, not requirements:

Send us your link before your listing is built and we’ll review the video once and send you one round of feedback — a one-time review, so you can fix anything before buyers see it (we can provide assistance — if you’re new to YouTube, our tutorial page takes you from creating the channel to sending us the link).

Like what you see? This page is the standard your listing will be built to — for one flat fee of $495, with no commission. Your vehicle stays with you, your account stays yours, and everything is handled from our desk.
